    Hi,

A little note to say I've today moved TKG over from binkd to FidoBlitz - so far
so good! Connections to all my links are working. A major improvement over my old binkd setup is that I can now make outbound connections.

binkd on the Amiga has done okay for me over the years but would crash very regularly, on top of being unable to successfully poll out.

Running on a real Amiga 1200 with '060.

I've been running Fidoblitz for well over a month now on a emulated system. It has run flawlessly for me! Not using AmibinkD before but using the Linux version and an elaborate copy from folder to folder script this program just does the job! It does it well!!

Hi. Yes, it works quite well. Now that you've uploaded version 0.17 to
aminet. We'll have to put it to use. Keep updating it, even if it works
    perfectly.

Meanwhile, by uninstalling ixemul from binkd, I'm fixing some problems. It
now correctly reads hexadecimal configuration files, and a few more that I haven't mentioned.

    Ah, sorry :D

I was referring to the domain, the hexadecimal numbers, if you entered
a letter, the configuration wouldn't load. It gave an error.
I still need to test it a bit more.

    This

    # Format: domain <domain name> [</path/to/outbound>] [<default zone>]
    # or: domain <aliasname> alias-for <domainname>
    domain amiganet work:fido/outbound 27
    domain tqwnet work:fido/outbound 539
    domain fsxnet work:fido/outbound 15
    domain nixnet work:fido/outbound 56
    domain micronet work:fido/outbound 26a
    domain hobbynet work:fido/outbound 3ba
    domain cnet work:fido/outbound 40
    domain pinet work:fido/outbound 13a
    domain retronet work:fido/outbound 50
    domain agoranet work:fido/outbound 2e
    domain sfnet work:fido/outbound 2a
    domain araknet work:fido/outbound 10

    The other part is this:
I've already removed that awful ixemul, but now I have to debug the code. It compiles fine now without errors, but there are a lot of warnings.

I've used code from my own project to make progress, but there's still a lot
    to do.

I hope inbound are also working?

binkd on the Amiga has done okay for me over the years but would crash very regularly, on top of being unable to successfully poll out.

I would have to reboot my system every week, and it's only a end node.

Mine has been doing mail runs and processing mail every 40 minutes,
unless the hub crashes through more mail in the meantime.

Running on a real Amiga 1200 with '060.

    How fast does it run?

Neil didn't write fidoblitz. I did...

It will keep on getting updates, when I see a bug or reports of bugs come
in. But sofar it's been pretty stable and working well on the machines it's been used on.

I can attest to it working fine! I have been running it for over a month now in
emulation, it has not crashed once! No more scripts to copy files from the Linux side with BinkD to the Amiga side to toss. The files come in they get tossed! No more waiting for a cron event to toss the files.. This has been perfect for me...

Indeed yes, so far flawlessly working. I noted that above as I never got outbound to work in binkd.

Running on a real Amiga 1200 with '060.
    How fast does it run?

Plenty fast enough on the CPU - I don't think binkd / Fidoblitz stresses the CPU. The issue with the A1200 is the IDE interface - it's glaringly obvious how
slow the HD makes everything when it's side-by-side with an A4000/060 with a SCSI HD.

The A1200 runs the HD at 2-3MB/s while the A4000 runs at 40MB/s.

I'm on the lookout for a Blizzard SCSI module for the Blizzard 1260, but as a temporary measure until then I've ordered a Fast-IDE module from AmigaKit. This
is supposed to improve performance to ~7MB/s.
