Time to get general test passed by the end of summer time :)
I'm curious to see how many will show up at my next license
exam session, and have studied the previously expired Technician
Class Question Pool (it has happened before).
Exam Tools won't have the new exams until the pool changes on
July 1, but with my new (refurbished) HP 2728e Deskjet Printer/
Scanner/Copier, and their Instant Ink and Instant Paper program,
I'll never have to worry about ordering stuff again. For a monthly
fee, they automatically ship me ink and paper when I get toward my
"allotment" (100 pages, as I don't print that much).
On another note, I will be at two regional hamfests for Arkansas
coming up:
1) August 8 -- Shreveport, Louisiana
2) Sept. 12 -- Mena, Arkansas
This year, the Shreveport hamfest is the ARRL Delta Division
Convention, but scheduling won't let me make it there until Saturday.
The Mena hamfest is the oldest hamfest west of the Mississippi River.
Then, I'll be at the ARRL National Convention and the Huntsville
Hamfest August 21-23...with the Friday night meet, eat, and greet
(MEG) at 88 Buffet...then at the Quarter Century Wireless Association
(QCWA) table all day Saturday and Sunday. I also will be doing a forum,
either one or both days, on "The Benefits Of Joining QCWA". To join,
you have to have been first licensed as an amateur radio operator,
anywhere in the world, anytime in the year 2001 or earlier, and are
currently licensed.
73,
Daryl Stout, NK5LA
P.S. New, never before issued callsign as of June 5, 2026...photos of
my eQSL and QSL card, plus an AI photo of me done by KD4YVV, are all
on my QRZ bio...with details of why I chose this callsign.
