    Hi August!

    >is accessible this way.. https://archive.ph/2ByUB

I tried getting that archive.ph link but it said the article
    didn't exist there.

I did a general search on the Title and the best link was to
that same globe2go link you mentioned and it showed the article
in full, but wouldn't let you save it or copy text from it, but
I was able to grab screen shots of the full article to save for
    reading and keeping.

Did you try to Print the page?

While I used the XP Desktop box I saved pages using DoPDF.
It is a Print driver that saves to a .pdf file.

I grabbed gobs of webpages with it.

Someone in the FIDO Windows 95 echo suggested it.

[1] Weird.. I did NOT get your original post above!

[2] And yes.. something has changed and the /2ByUB link doesn't
seem to work anymore. Apologies. I thought archive.ph would
catalogue those searches and keep the short-URLs on file.

I'll see if I can grab a pure-text copy and send it to you
    direct.

[3] Weirder.. the short-URL worked via mobile!

So, I cleaned up a Ctl-A of the text, and sent it to you via
Aftershock. I will send a copy via TgBBS (netmail) as well.

Heck, I'll even send you another netmail via the new Fidonet
interface I discovered for mobile: myPoint, BinktermPHP - since
the text is still in the clipboard! :D

sbbsecho crapped the bed here earlier this week so that could be why.

Ed and Rob are both posting here so they would have seen each other's
original posts, but others outside of here might not have. I didn't think
any mail actually got lost trying to get in or out but it might have.

Ah... Thx for letting me know. Don't I pick up mail from your system? I'll have to check. I'm using my phone/aftershock right now.

Did you try to Print the page?

    I hadn't yet but that wouldn't be a problem. I have a laser printer.
My main issue was if I wanted to quote from it there was no way
    to copy and paste text.

While I used the XP Desktop box I saved pages using DoPDF.
    >It is a Print driver that saves to a .pdf file.

I have that as well. The first thing I did was to take the 4 pages
I'd made screen shots of and put them into my Paint program and
I cut off the garbage from a full page shot and attached it all
together into one clean picture of the article in JPG. It would
also be easy to convert it to PDF. I have at least 3 programs that
will do that, but the first one I got for this computer was DoPDF.
It works much better than older programs I'd tried before.

But my friend August Abolins did some sort of copy using his
access to the news service and he eMailed me a copy of it so
I do have it in actual Text now.. B)

That's very strange. I wondered if some of the postings maybe
disappeared recently when I didn't get any feedback from comments.

Which you did and I got it fine, thanks. I sent you a thankyou

it's way to you. It didn't bounce back anyways.. B)

Thanks for letting me know it did indeed cause an issue. :( Until you said something I was not aware.

You are a point for Dove and Micronet from here, but I don't think you are
a point for FIDO, although you could be. Because you are a point, it might have affected your mail on those networks also.

I did check for that and found nothing last time or this time.

Okay.. apologies, for some reason my eMail system didn't tell
me those messages ended up in Spam but I did find them tonight..
Possibly they were delayed as well since I'm pretty sure I
checked Spam when the first message didn't come through.

More on that in the eMail reply itself..

Sounds like Microsoft Windows on a regular basis. <BG>

That's also like where the old lady tells her husband "Talk Dirty
To Me", and he replies "I just [crapped] the bed"!! :P

Or the one where the old man is having a flatulence contest (fart
football) with his wife. Depending on the length of the poot (and I
guess the stench in the methane), it resulted in x number of points.
Well, he ended up [crapping] the bed, and he called "time out". His
wife snarled "Personal Foul. Targeting. That's an Ejection". <G>

I was feeling crappy, but I had to laugh at your initial reply. :)
