  • Great Day Out.

    Hi all! We visited the Centre for Computing History today. Located just outside Cambridge, UK. I highly reccomend this
    as both an educaional and entertaining venue. With an extensive collecion of mainframes and micro computers dating back
    to the earliest days of modern computing. A shop and also loos. Very accessible and unassuming it makes a strong
    impression on the novice as well as the expert. A big thank you going out to the staff who were knowledgeable about all
    eras and regions. A nice touch were the contextual displays setting vintage computers within the style and decor of
    their time, and done with accuracy and attention to detail. Nice. Thank you all you are amazing. Bye.

    I went there once a couple of years ago - I dragged up there with work and technically should have been working but I just bummed off for the afternoon* and looked around the CfCH. Brilliant time, so diverse.

    * I was up there to present for a tender / bid that I'd spent several weeks preparing, evenings and weekends and all that. I really didn't need to run through the slides one more time or strategise any further. I think it was much better for my pitch that I be in a happy frame of mind after seeing old Psions, Apples and Gameboys. I even got to look up my home town on the Domesday system.
