How am I supposed to run a Java door game on a generic bbs?

you can't. but possibly you can run a synchronet JAVASCRIPT, i'm not sure
    if it would shit itself.

    java is not javascript

Yeah, good luck running that Java door game on your MS-DOS, CBM/Amiga, or Atari BBS!

there are actually a few guys who claimed to make java doors and java bbs software but of course it didn't happen.

dunno why but the screenshots are all gone.
there's 2 bbses listed that are running it but i don't know what client i can use for petscii on windows.

i have c64 forever but don't want to go through the trouble for something i'll probably only look at for 1 minute and disconnect from.

Cool. I doubt the "Games" on there are traditional door games, but still looks cool.

I don't recall ever seeing a door game written in Java. Have you?

Not that i can think of. Just saying that since Java seems to be the universal programing language that it would make sense. Then you would have to compile the same program for multiple platforms.

Should be the same as any other door. The only real difference would be that the game would be independent of the OS you're running the BBS on.

That's just a marketing line. Java is not truly universal: not all platforms have a supporting Java VM.

Then you would have to compile the same program for multiple platforms.

Yup, that's how doorgames are normally done.
