    The parent company of Facebook pushed back its plans to enable end-to-end encryption as a default on Messenger and Instagram until 2023 (ZDnet)

    WhatsApp, the company�s flagship messaging app, is the only Meta platform that is based on Signal�s E2EE protocol.

    The United States and Australia called on Meta to create backdoor access to encrypted messages in 2019.
