I didn't know that Honda is making cars here too.

I'm not sure about now. This was like 30 years ago.

Left-wing corruption might have pushed them back to Japan.

But were the parts from Japan? And then they were just assembling them here?

I used to think "Buy American made cars" was the way to go, but my attitude has changed since my realization about the elite collusion that exists among major brands (of cars and of everything else.)

The only thing that would impact my decision now would be how much the brake pads and rotors cost for the particular model.

I couldn't say for sure, but probably just assembly so they could claim "made in America".

There are lots of shell games done here. Does "Made in America" mean "Manufactured in America" or "Assembled in America"? I remember a while back where someone made them post the percentage of parts that were actually manufactured in America - but that's probably long been removed.

If we can get the same cars cheaper by having them assembled in Japan, then they ought to move "production" back to Japan. But I see their point: gimmicks are what make sales, and a business has no choice but to do what's in their best interests.

Yup. And as consumers, we must do what's in our best interests.

If the companies and consumers can't "meet in the middle", then both lose - and someone else steps in to satisfy the need. Capitalism at work.

If only the socialists will top messing it up with their failed idea of a planned economy.
