    So, I see a new beta of WinRAR/RAR for whatever is now available :)
    Downloaded and installed it to my Windows and Linux machines :)

    Hmm.. on my linux box rar told me to upgrade to a newer version rar .. It wouldn't let me list the archive contents.

    ... But then with the new 64-bit Linux Rar it's working fine. :)

    Ok, I'll hatch out these betas. :)

    I've never heard of RAR giving any notifications like that at all -
    ever.

    It is the first time I saw that message as well. I think I was running rar v5.3 before I upgraded to the new 5.50 version.. My old one could have been an earlier version.
