• t-rex development status updates - Phase 3.0

    What's new in Phase 3.0

Phase 2.0 was outbound-only, one uplink, no socket timeout, and
didn't wait for delivery confirmation before calling a session done.
Phase 3.0 addresses all of that:

Multiple networks, AKAs, uplinks, and nodelists. T-Rex can now be
configured as a member of more than one FTN network at once (say,
Fidonet zone 1 and some other zone/net entirely) - each with its own
primary address, any number of additional AKAs announced in the same
handshake, its own uplink host/port, its own session password, its
own nodelist file, and its own outbound directory. See Multiple
    networks below.

Inbound BinkP listening. T-Rex can now be polled, not just poll - -
listen (headless) or "Listen once" (the Free Vision shell) runs it
as a server accepting inbound sessions. See Inbound listening below.
A real socket timeout. A dead or firewalled remote now fails a
session after SocketTimeoutSec (default 60) instead of hanging
    forever.

M_GET (resume) and M_GOT (delivery confirmation). T-Rex now honours
    a remote's request to resume a file it's sending from a nonzero
offset, and now waits for the remote's M_GOT acknowledgement -
deleting the local outbound file once it arrives - before claiming a
batch is done, rather than just firing files at the wire and hoping.

CRAM-MD5 authentication (FTS-1027). Added after a real poll against
a live public binkp host (bbs.winserver.com) showed it offering a
CRAM-MD5 challenge - T-Rex used to go through as an unauthenticated
anonymous connection whenever that happened. Now, in both
directions, a session password is proved by HMAC-MD5 of a random
challenge instead of ever crossing the wire in plaintext, when the
other side offers or presents it

Per-node fileboxes. An inbound caller can now be offered files
addressed specifically to it, not just its whole network's
    undifferentiated OutboundDi
