This release includes all the package updates and security patches
    released in August 2026.

This is your friendly reminder that Arch Linux 2026.09.01 is out now
as a new ISO snapshot for September 2026, powered by the latest and
    greatest Linux 7.2 kernel series.

Arch Linux 2026.09.01 is the first Arch Linux ISO release to ship
with Linux kernel 7.2 by default, which should give users a boost
when detecting hardware, especially on newer devices, but especially
on older ones where previous Arch Linux ISOs failed to detect some
    of the components.

Of course, existing Arch Linux users already received the Linux 7.2
kernel update yesterday, August 31st, 2026, so if you havent
updated your installations yet, consider this a reminder to do so as
soon as possible. Linux kernel 7.2 should also boost your Arch Linux
experience since it introduces new features and performance
    improvements.

Just like with last months Arch Linux ISO snapshot, Arch Linux
2026.09.01 ships with the latest Archinstall 4.4 menu-based
installer, which features a Niri DankMaterialShell desktop profile,
support for configuring the Plymouth boot splash screen, and an IWD
    standalone option for network configuration.

Archinstall 4.4 also adds the ability to select the console font
from the Locales menu, the ability to automatically set the console
font when selecting a language, support for displaying the install
summary when the configuration is valid, and revamped profile seat
    access selection.

On top of that, Archinstall 4.4 improves Wi-Fi network selection,
automatically adds users to the seat group when selecting seatd,
adds a warning before enabling the Plymouth boot splash in the
bootloader menu, replaces the terminal and file manager apps in the
Budgie desktop profile, and removes the Cutefish desktop profile.

Last but not least, the Arch Linux 2026.09.01 ISO release includes
all the updated packages and security patches released in August
2026 through the official repositories. These, along with various
bug fixes and all the new features and enhancements in Archinstall
4.4, should provide a more stable Arch Linux installation.

Without further ado, you can download Arch Linux 2026.09.01 from the
official website. Keep in mind, though, that this ISO release is
here only for new installations, as existing Arch Linux users can
keep their systems up to date by running the sudo pacman -Syu
command in their favorite terminal emulator.

... In /dev/null no one can hear you scream.
