Faecesbook now wants a selfie from new prospects, promissing to delete
it after some time but not saying if they will also delete and never
sell the face-data derived. Google want such prospects to scan a code emailed to them (not sure exactly what they get out of this one). Not
sure what the legislators are doing about protecting the personal data
of the tax-paying millions' who put food on the table for their families either. What we need is some Roy Bean legislation that says: "no one may
be in control or posession of any other person's personal data for
longer than the transient period necessary for a transaction". Europe is parsecs ahead in this field, at least on paper.

Australia introduced age restrictions for kiddies. Facebook never asked
me for proof of age, but Bluesky (who were not in naughty list) did.
