If C/C++ had multi level break and continue keywords goto would almost
never be needed**. There's no reason they can't be added - along with
    a lot
    of
other useful but basic fatures (eg non POD switch, native concatting
    numbers
    to
std::string without calling to_string) - but I guess the committee

Multi-level break and continue (named loops) is on its way to C++, and
will almost certainly be accepted sooner or later (since it is already
in the draft of the next C standard):

They should have been added 30 years ago.

And people /do/ use concepts, even if you do not.

Yeah, on university CS courses. They're just more metaprogramming fucking about and add nothing of actual value for the jobbing programmer trying to solve a problem.

You might want to do some research before insulting the people who are
actually doing the work in driving languages forward.

Driving it forward into a ditch. The language is already so needlessly complicated that students just swerve it for more user friendly ones,
    mainly
Python. And Rust is already nudging C aside. If they ever add a decent object model to it then C++ will be next in the firing line.

If I was starting out today in IT I wouldn't touch C++ with the proverbial barge pole.
