From Newsgroup: comp.lang.python.announce
Hello all,
I'm very happy to announce the release of pyo 1.1.0, available for the following
Python versions:
3.11 (Windows amd64, macOS arm64, Linux x86_64)
3.12 (Windows amd64, macOS arm64, Linux x86_64)
3.13 (Windows amd64, macOS arm64, Linux x86_64)
3.14 (Windows amd64, macOS arm64, Linux x86_64)
Pyo is a Python module written in C to help real-time digital signal
processing
script creation. It provides a complete set of classes to build audio
software,
compose algorithmic music or simply explore audio processing. It is
available for
Windows, macOS and Linux. It is released under the LGPL 3 license.

WHAT CHANGED IN VERSION 1.1.0:
New features:
- Added CallAlways, which calls a Python function every processing frame.
- Added context-manager support to the Server object.
- Added PEP 489 multi-phase module initialization and support for multiple
sub-interpreters. Python types and module/runtime state are now local to
each
interpreter.
- Added spectral domain and 2D table (matrix) examples to the documentation.
Build and integration updates:
- Updated the JUCE and Pure Data files and the OpenFrameworks example.
- Added GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows for cross-platform testing.
- macOS: Replaced version-specific Homebrew dependency paths with stable
opt/
symlinks, allowing builds against different installed dependency versions.
Verified on Python 3.14 (macOS arm64).
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed pyo embedding in Pure Data on Windows, including Python runtime discovery,
full-width pointer handling, and initialization error reporting. Linux and
macOS embedding were also validated.
- Fixed GCC 15/C23 incompatibilities (issues #276, #295, and #311).
- Fixed memory leaks in PyObject_Call and PyObject_CallMethod statements.
- Improved error handling during object creation.
- Server: Stream IDs are no longer reused after shutdown.
- Removed shadowed duplicate method definitions in PeakAmp, RMS, and Server.
