Hello out there,
I have installed Ubuntu-Mate in a VirtualBox on my Windows machine. I
found there a pre-installed Tcl (8.6.14).
Q: Where would TkCon be located and how would I call it: As TkCon,
TKCon, tkcon or ...?
And, more general: How do I find a particular file on Linux?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Helmut
Can you run any wish or tclsh from the command line?yes and using 'info vars' I found 'tcl_library' which led me to /usr/share/tcltk/tcl8.6 which contains some 'tm' modules but no tkcon
To find executables, there is a command called "which":

Another command named "find" may help you with that. It has many options
you can look up via the man pages, but here is a simple example to find >files by names, patterns, extension, etc.
% cd /
% find |grep ".txt"
Of course you can change where you start looking.
