For the time being I have reverted from using Tcl/Tk 9.1.0 to 9.0.3.
1. ttk::treeview moving down doesn't work in 9.1 but does in 9.0.
Evidence: https://github.com/mark-summerfield/wishlist
This program allows the user to move books and groups and readers up and
down in the tree. It works perfectly with 9.0 but down moves don't work
with 9.1.

Regarding this I've now managed to create a cut-down example 42 lines
and created a ticket: https://core.tcl-lang.org/tk/tktview/7aae3d0fe508fb7c6d88553318fbd84111f39d47
(I have no idea how to sort out my second 9.1 bug as per prev. post.)
2. When I create a child window its widgets don't appear in 9.1 but appear
fine and can be interacted with in 9.0.
Evidence: https://github.com/mark-summerfield/eval
If you run this program and click More→Tables (or press <Ctrl-t>) it pops
up a dialog window that shows a ttk::notebook of three pages each with a
text widget, plus a Close button. All this appears and works fine in 9.0;
none of them appear in 9.1 and in 9.1 the application hangs. The
application’s other dialog windows all work fine in both 9.0 and 9.1.
I always build from source. I'm on Debian trixie 13 64-bit Linux.

I've noticed that the Tables dialog is modeless & the others (all of which work fine with 9.0 & 9.1) are modal.
For modal I execute "wm transient $Form ." and "grab set $Form";
but I don't do either of these for the modeless Tables form which fails
to work properly with 9.1.
In the source code the differences are in abstract_form-1.tm.
If I get time I'll try to create a minimal example & create a ticket.
Harald: I haven't tried with the trunk; I'm used to building Tcl/Tk from
the tarballs & have never built from a checkout.
I looked at building from https://github.com/tcltk/ which has the dev daily build but it lists linux as failing for both Tcl and Tk so it seems pointless to try at the moment.
Also, I found that regarding third party packages, tcltls2 builds fine with 9.0.3 but fails to build with 9.1.0.
Sorry you are having difficulty, Mark. See below.[snip[

I just tried building the HEAD of tcltls repository against 9.1.0
release with MinGW on Windows (openssl 3.6) as well under Ubuntu 26
(openssl 3.5.5). Both built and ran tests with no failures. What was the error you saw, what tcltls distribution did you use, and what was the installed openssl version?
Sorry you are having difficulty, Mark. See below.

The daily builds fail even for minor hiccups/bugs so I would still give
it a go.

It's not clear why it is looking in /home/mark/Downloads/tcl9.1.0/library.
Do you by any chance have TCL_LIBRARY env variable pointed there? Else looking at the config output, why is it looking there? It's also picking
up dtplite from /usr/bin/dtplite which seems suspicious. I would have thought it should be in /home/mark/opt/tcl91/lib/.

The issue isn't with tcltls or the configure scripts, the issue is you
seem to have tcl installed in at least 3 locations so when the /usr/bin/ dtplite.tcl script is called, tclsh can't find the init.tcl file. That's
the error message you have above. So you need to provide options to tell
it how to find the right install location. Another issue may be the
output you pasted into the message showing the command line was
corrupted with extra characters. That will cause it to fail too.
Here's what I use on OpenSuSE with a custom TCL install:
./configure --enable-64bit --prefix=/opt/tcl9.1 -with-tcl=/opt/tcl9.1/
lib64 --with-openssl-dir=/usr --with-openssl-includedir=/usr/include -- with-openssl-libdir=/usr/lib64
You may also need to alter the PATH to remove any other TCL locations if
it keeps using the wrong tclsh.
See './configure --help' for the complete list of options.

./configure --enable-64bit --prefix=/opt/tcl9.1
-with-tcl=/opt/tcl9.1/lib64 --with-openssl-dir=/usr --with-openssl-includedir=/usr/include --with-openssl-libdir=/usr/lib64
