Came across this Windows tool called ExplorerPatcher, and the problems
it causes for users when antivirus flags it as malware. See, for
example, the discussion here <
https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/issues/4628>. Looks like Microsoft’s Windows Defender is not a current source of problems, but
another antivirus program, SentinelOne, needs to have exceptions
manually added to it.
What happens when a tool which is supposed to make life easier for
you, makes it harder instead?
On top of which, you have to be careful when updating your system: for
best results, you have to uninstall ExplorerPatcher before the update,
and reinstall it afterwards.
This is why they say, Windows is a great OS -- if your time is worth
nothing.
