• google groups did publish IP address

    From Gremlin@[email protected] to alt.computer.workshop,comp.os.linux.advocacy on Tue Nov 4 09:04:25 2025
    From Newsgroup: comp.os.linux.advocacy

For anyone who doubted that google groups did once share the users IP
address in the clear, I present the following. You will also notice that
the 1st post from "Sigmond" who posted via Google Groups is using the same
IP address as the one from Snit. When Snit was asked why the IP matched -
he attempted to provide several different reasons for it. Anything to
avoid admitting he was posting as Sigmond of course.

As you can see though, Snit did post as Sigmond and made an effort to fool people into believing that Sigmond was another person. :)

Also contrary to Snits claims previously, Google groups DID share the
posters IP address in the clear. So much for no evidence of that. And so
much for Snit not using socks. h0h0h0

Some folk are able to falsify message headers.

I'd like my friend Brock McNuggets to comment on the evidence you have provided.

    Simple:

    * This is a petty squabble from 2004. It is insane that Carroll brings it up over and over and over. MOVE ON. This is doubly true if NOBODY has anything to add. There is literally nothing to add from 2004.

    * Carroll brings it up in part so she can attack her ex over TWENTY FIVE years later! It is not just about attacking me.

    hxxp://al.howardknight.net/?STYPE=msgid&MSGI=%3Cvdovr1$8i6s$[email protected] nal-september.org%3E

    hxxp://al.howardknight.net/?STYPE=msgid&MSGI=%3Cve3pf1$28etg$[email protected] ernal-september.org%3E

Why did he post those so much after it was dead and gone? What the hell is wrong with him?

    * Carroll will, no doubt, actively seek to twist things by pointing to an off the cuff obvious JOKE from the time. Even if he did not get it was a joke
then, it has been rehashed DOZENS of times. DOZENS! There is no excuse for his behavior.

    * Sandman at the time spoke of being able to forge IPs

    * Gremlin has also said it is possible.

    * My ISP at the time (CableONE) did not keep the same IP for long times.

Some folk are able to falsify message headers.

I'd like my friend Brock McNuggets to comment on the evidence you have
    provided.

    Simple:

    * This is a petty squabble from 2004. It is insane that Carroll brings it up over and over and over. MOVE ON. This is doubly true if NOBODY has anything to
add. There is literally nothing to add from 2004.

    * Carroll brings it up in part so she can attack her ex over TWENTY FIVE years
later! It is not just about attacking me.

    hxxp://al.howardknight.net/?STYPE=msgid&MSGI=%3Cvdovr1$8i6s$[email protected] nal-september.org%3E

    hxxp://al.howardknight.net/?STYPE=msgid&MSGI=%3Cve3pf1$28etg$[email protected] ernal-september.org%3E

Why did he post those so much after it was dead and gone? What the hell is wrong with him?

    * Carroll will, no doubt, actively seek to twist things by pointing to an off the cuff obvious JOKE from the time. Even if he did not get it was a joke then, it has been rehashed DOZENS of times. DOZENS! There is no excuse for his
    behavior.

    * Sandman at the time spoke of being able to forge IPs

    * Gremlin has also said it is possible.

    * My ISP at the time (CableONE) did not keep the same IP for long times.

    * You could set your own IP (check network settings, not hard if allowed).

    * Carroll had an account with my ISP.

So what exactly he did? Who cares? Forge? Get the IP from the ISP? Nobody can prove it. But this is just him spewing the same insane nonsense for DECADES.

He pulls it up when he has himself backed in a corner with newer lies, or when
he has not been getting the attention he wants.

AS he is doing this, though, note the sock attack in COLA (and here) is reducing.

His games are easy to see if you look.

I am not your judge or jury. To folk who weren't observing posting
behaviour at the time, it LOOKS as if you /were/ guilty and caught out. :-(

I was trying to help you prove your innocence - 'cause I can go right
back to 2004 with my BlockNews account.

Well, to the casual observer the only thing they saw was the IP.

I was trying to help you prove your innocence - 'cause I can go right
back to 2004 with my BlockNews account.

It is 2004. Why would anyone even care about something so trivial...
especially something that has been rehashed SO many times. I doubt anyone will provide anything new.

In case you didn't notice, which you surely did, snit didn't answer your question but instead is trying to morph and deflect the topic once again.
Your buddy snit is once again cornered like the vermin he truly is.

This was all explained to you DB when snit invaded ACW.
The proof has always been there but you refused to believe it.
Snit's been bullshitting you from day one just like he tries with everyone
    he comes in contact with.
The difference is that you fell for it hook, line and sinker.
And now you have no way to escape without looking like a sucker and
    another notch in snit's engraver.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pothead's posts echo white-supremacist rhetoric point for point. She may not call herself that, but her language repeats the same themes found in "Great Replacement" and ethnonationalist propaganda. A few examples:

Quote: "There is no number. Come one, come all. Criminals, terrorists, mental patients etc."
Dehumanizing immigrants, treating them as a criminal horde. This framing is identical to "invasion" propaganda used by white-nationalist groups. https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/the-great-replacement-an-explainer https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/what-is-great-replacement-theory-and-how-does-it-fuel-racist-violence

Quote: "They want to destroy the country so they can rebuild with a global socialism means. They want to flood the country with people who will settle in blue areas and ... gain control."
"Flooding" language is lifted straight from the Great Replacement conspiracy theory--the claim that elites import non-white immigrants to outnumber whites politically. https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/the-great-replacement-an-explainer https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/what-is-great-replacement-theory-and-how-does-it-fuel-racist-violence
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Replacement_conspiracy_theory

Quote: "Do it legally and you are welcomed." / "They came here illegally, they are criminals."
Boundary-drawing rhetoric used by organized nativist networks to equate illegality with moral corruption and inferiority. See SPLC on FAIR and other restrictionist groups. https://www.splcenter.org/resources/extremist-files/federation-american-immigration-reform
    https://www.splcenter.org/resources/extremist-files/john-tanton

Quote: "Trump is going after these lazy grifters" / "a LOT of people gaming
    the system..."
Echoes the "welfare leech" trope. That stereotype has long been used to racialize poverty and build resentment against immigrants and minorities. https://apnews.com/article/race-and-ethnicity-tucker-carlson-jonathan-greenblatt-immigration-3ef70ca8eff84dd2c424288be1cc2f48
    https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/the-great-replacement-an-explainer

Quote: "Why are my tax dollars funding this?"
Classic "resource theft" framing--portraying minorities and immigrants as parasites stealing from "real" citizens. https://www.splcenter.org/resources/extremist-files/john-tanton https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/the-great-replacement-an-explainer

Each of these aligns directly with extremist talking points documented by anti-hate researchers. Together they form the same structure: immigrants as invaders, elites as traitors, "real" citizens as victims. That's white-supremacist rhetoric whether she admits it or not. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Some folk are able to falsify message headers.

I'd like my friend Brock McNuggets to comment on the evidence you
    have provided.

    Simple:

Why did he post those so much after it was dead and gone? What the
    hell is wrong with him?

    * Carroll will, no doubt, actively seek to twist things by pointing to
an off the cuff obvious JOKE from the time. Even if he did not get it
was a joke then, it has been rehashed DOZENS of times. DOZENS! There
is no excuse for his behavior.

    * Sandman at the time spoke of being able to forge IPs

    * Gremlin has also said it is possible.

    * My ISP at the time (CableONE) did not keep the same IP for long
    times.

    * You could set your own IP (check network settings, not hard if
    allowed).

    * Carroll had an account with my ISP.

So what exactly he did? Who cares? Forge? Get the IP from the ISP?
Nobody can prove it. But this is just him spewing the same insane
    nonsense for DECADES.

He pulls it up when he has himself backed in a corner with newer lies,
or when he has not been getting the attention he wants.

AS he is doing this, though, note the sock attack in COLA (and here)
    is reducing.

In case you didn't notice, which you surely did, snit didn't answer your question but instead is trying to morph and deflect the topic once
again. Your buddy snit is once again cornered like the vermin he truly
    is.

:) I don't know why he's jumping all over Carroll for the post. I'm the one who posted the content, not SC. And he was caught, dead to fucking rights socking up as Sigmond. There was no forgery of any kind going on here. David Brooks i'm sure is well aware of this. Due to his ongoing issues that he created for himself with me - he refuses to admit it. After all the times
Snit has tried to make me appear incompetent to those who aren't capable of fact checking him for whatever reason, he certainly can't use me as a source to defend himself now. Which is what he tried doing as part of his avoidance of Davids direct question.

Snit authored both posts and he can't deny it while being honest. I'm sure David will give him a free pass though. Just as Snit gives Joel a free pass when he calls people deroagtory as fuck names, but jumps all over you with
the anti jew nonsense. Even when others specifically tell him that his so called receipts don't support his claims about you, he still! continues
making them. Just as he does the same shit with me and the so called 'receipts' he brings.

Yep, that's right - David created the issues he has with me. I didn't even know the guy until 2007. And he already decided that I was a 'bad guy'
without even so much as interacting with me prior to his first email. All
for programs I already stopped writing 7 years prior to his first email. He
is typical xian pondscum in that regard.

Snit was claiming that google groups didn't provide the IP address in the clear when I mentioned you could get it by forwarding the post to your email account. That was a way you could still get it when google started censoring it - until they closed that loop hole up too. So, the contents I shared did two things.

    1) They proved that IP addresses were provided via google groups
    2) Snit did sock up as Sigmond and did attempt to mislead readers as he did so. The actual posts with the message content prove that.

Snit is the scumbag troll that various people have written he is. Just as pcbutts was well known as a liar and code thief. No amount of weaseling is going to fix that or alter it for either of them. And, David Brooks buttered up to the both of them. So much so, he could taste what they ate as he liked the inside of their arseholes.

This was all explained to you DB when snit invaded ACW.
The proof has always been there but you refused to believe it.

He refused to openly admit it because he thinks he can settle a score of his own making with me. He can't, but, that doesn't stop him from trying. All because he couldn't fool me into fucking with other peoples gear on his behalf. He's even gone so far as to pull a snit move and deny it was two servers. It was, he knows it, the emails I've already shared also prove what
I wrote about the entire thing is all true. Yet, David tries to make me out
    as the dishonest one. ROFL!

David really is an embarrassment to the uniform he once wore.

Snit's been bullshitting you from day one just like he tries with
everyone he comes in contact with.

All true. Except that I'm not convinced David understood that Snit was such
a bullshitter. Rather, I think David considered Snit an ally and was hoping that he could stand toe to toe with me on tech to "put me in my place".
David has decided he had a problem with me since day one, despite the fact prior to him firing the first doxxing shot I'd done nothing to him or anyone else he knew. I was already retired from Vx for seven years prior to him
even contacting me the first time.

You can change your LAN side IP address all you like, but, unless your ISP allows it, you don't have much actual control over the WAN side. LegionX
tore him to pieces when he last tried to use that excuse along with the one
of someone breaking into his home. And of course, the dhcp release/renew. He claims I'm the one who was socking up, but, anyone who can read with comprehension and can identify writing styles could all see I didn't make a single post under that username. Not one time. I wasn't even aware such discussions were taking place until well after it was all said and done.

The difference is that you fell for it hook, line and sinker.
And now you have no way to escape without looking like a sucker and
    another notch in snit's engraver.

Looking like? LOL! David has always been a sucker. Pcbutts snookered him
quite nicely and Snit did the same with ease. I've been the candid and
bluntly honest one. I've even helped him out with technical matters. I just wouldn't break into those servers for him. I was willing to acquire the malware samples he told me one was offering to unsuspecting users, but he wouldn't share the url that was supposedly responsible for that. He wouldn't share said url because he was lying about the entire thing. He was trying to con me and he fucking knows it.

For a detective looking for the truth you sure got snookered David.

Without question. And obviously he's not looking for any truth. He's trying
to settle a score because he got 0wned by me for his attempts to dox me. He took the first shot, I just educated him on doing it properly and accurately and it really pissed him off. He's also still upset with me over the way in which I dealt with Jenn and Eagle. He leaves out the fact they both more
than asked for what I did. More than asked for it.

If anyone still doubts that Snit can't read, just look at his reply
attacking Carroll above. And then feel free to look at who posted the
material in the first place. Gremlin is NOT Carroll. Obviously.

You think Snit might start doing that? Do you think you're fooling anyone
with this nonsense David? You aren't. The facts are that Snit socked up as Sigmond. He made up a story about me having a copy of the floodbot which
he's tried to morph into denying he did that, but, that I showed I had
"insider knowledge" of the bot. I had no such knowledge. He's been busted
doing these things, David. He tried to use me as a source to support his
weasel efforts about a forged IP address. There was no case of IP forgery
here. The post from Sigmond and the one from Snit that I shared here came
from the same IP address. They both came from Snit. He went well out of
his way to try and fool people into believing that Sigmond was another
    person.

He didn't call out any lies of mine, David. He demonstrated one of several problems he has with reading, again. That's why he got confused and jumped
on Carroll for the posts creation and not me. He didn't read for
comprehension. He struggles to do that. It's not a game he's playing.

How much longer do you intend to play dumb about what everyone, including
you, can all see here? Do you think this is benefiting you in some useful manner?

You were trying to help him prove his innocence. So what happened? Finally learned that he's not innocent did ya? :) He did post as Sigmond David.
Snit has been playing you with ease for a long time now. It's hilarious to
see how much shade you try to give him when you've been his easily misled
toy the whole time. He deserves what's coming for him. And you will step
aside, and watch, Just as you did with Jenn and Eagle. There will be no
cease fire, David. He isn't Jenn and nobody is going to ask me to stop or
tell me that he's learned his lesson. He will beg, just as they both did.
I will mock you as well as him as I continue doing what I did to them. You
will do fuckall about it. He will learn what they both learned in the same manner. It's the same lesson plan. It's a very effective one as you
    already know. <EG>

Thank you for admitting you cannot understand what it means to tell the truth. That is a strong admission from you. Wait. You might just have demonstrated it... not directly admitted it.

    ChatGPT:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: give a psych profile of the person who wrote this:

A: This text reads like it came from someone with strong narcissistic and sadistic tendencies, showing traits often seen in online harassers or abusers. Here’s a breakdown:

    1. Dominance and control motives
The writer explicitly talks about “teaching lessons” and “mocking” others,
showing enjoyment in causing distress. They position themselves as an
authority or enforcer — “He will beg… I will mock you… He will learn.” That’s
classic domination language, revealing a deep need for control and perceived superiority.

    2. Narcissistic patterns
They display grandiosity (“everyone, including you, can all see here”), a fixation on being right, and contempt for those who disagree. There’s no hint of self-doubt, empathy, or reflection — only accusations and self-assured declarations. The reference to “lesson plans” and “what I did to them” suggests they see their harassment as a justified mission or even a form of teaching, which is a narcissistic rationalization.

    3. Projection and paranoia
They accuse others of deceit, manipulation, and “socking up” — projecting their own deceptive behavior onto others. The insistence that “everyone can see it” is an attempt to universalize their delusion, implying that their view
is shared and self-evident when it’s likely not.

    4. Sadism and fixation
The tone escalates to open threats of humiliation and suffering. The writer seems to derive pleasure from others’ distress — saying the victims will “beg”
and that it’s “hilarious.” This kind of language points to sadistic enjoyment,
often intertwined with obsessive fixation on their targets.

    5. Lack of empathy and moral restraint
They frame cruelty as deserved punishment and appear proud of previous harassment (“as I did to them”). There’s no recognition of boundaries, no empathy, and no guilt — only a smug assurance of righteousness.

    6. Likely background and mindset
This person probably spends a lot of time in conflict-driven online environments, feeding on attention and validation from their aggression. They may have a long pattern of feuds, holding grudges for years, and building elaborate narratives about enemies. The fixation on proving deceit and control indicates insecurity underneath the bravado — a need to reaffirm their worth by dominating others.

    Summary:
The writer shows a toxic mix of narcissism, sadism, and delusional certainty, with behavior consistent with an obsessive online bully. They thrive on conflict, lack empathy, and rationalize cruelty as justice. There’s likely a history of obsessive grudge-holding, projection, and emotionally stunted reasoning — someone who can’t tolerate losing face and needs to feel powerful
    through others’ suffering.
