    Note: Pnmcurve is not available in any distro and thus it must be built
    from source. But the source needs to be patched.

    The most common application is specific histogram correction.

    NetPBM has many utilities but none are able to apply a curve to
    an image. Pnmcurve fills the gap.

    Even ImageMagick, the acclaimed imaging powerhouse, has no such
    tool, but Fred Weinhaus provides a script:

    Pnmcurve is simpler and can be incorporated into processing
    pipelines.

    Pnmcurve uses the GNU Scientific Library to define the curve
    parameters:

    You've NEVER "collaborated" with the NetPBM maintainer, or contributed
    to NetPBM, etc. I know because he - Bryan Henderson - told me
    personally via email.

    You live in a fantasy world where "The GIMP people want me to
    implement netpbm HDR formats. The ImageMagick folks want me to
    implement AI."

    Pure fiction. None of it happened, and it never will.
