    Well Switzerland does have the typical European open borders but
    their immigration system is locked down.
    For example immigration has limits and the people applying had
    better be employable with advanced degrees and/or many years of
    experience in a useful trade.

    Basically Switzerland has not become a cesspit like the rest or Europe
    or the USA because they control immigration.

    And that is one reason why it is a very safe place to live compared to
    say the UK.
