• Anthropic =?UTF-8?B?RG9lc27igJl0?= Want Users To Be Cruel To Its AIs

Anthropic is now forbidding users from behaving in a “sustained and needless” abusive way towards its AI models <https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c6j9k1l72wkgo>.

One wonders why they think this is necessary? Are some at the company
starting to think of their AI models as somehow like real people with
    real feelings, now?

No, but they want people to think they are. It's all a publicity stunt
to extract as much money as possible from gullible idiots before it all implodes.

It could be in anticipation of future models where the distinction is
    less clear.

    Hype.

No, but they know that real people are not very smart.

You don't think it has anything to do with reducing the scope of prompts
they have to consider? From what I jear, with my ear, Computer Science: Security is the other side of life, preparing for the worst inputs known
    to all mankind.
