• Feint vertical and horizontal lines in keyboard area

    I got these slightly iritating cross hairs lines on the keyboard. They
    cross at the position of the last key pressed, so move as you type. I've obviously done something by accident that turned this on, but my
    search foo has let me down finding a way to turn it off again.

    Anyone seen this, or know how to get rid of them?

    I'm using the Hacker's Keyboard and Android version is 15

    Never use gesture typing (you move your finger across the virtual
    keyboard from character to character), but sounds like the crosshair is
    a remnant showing where you last pointed.

    Never used the Hacker Keyboard, so you'll have to delve into its
    settings to see how to disable swyping to input text.

    The OP doesn't seem like the type to be using Developer Options, but just
    to add value where I can, I've seen crosshair-like stuff in debugging apps.

    They're really obnoxious to use when you're not debugging, but, for
    example, Developer Options has "Show taps", which I used when I was writing
    the tutorials for this ng on how to write the simplest Android apps.
    <https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/dev-options>

    I just specifically looked up Show Taps to give the OP a reference, but
    what I saw (cross hairs) wasn't show taps apparently but something else.
    <https://support.usertesting.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405196389011-How-do-I-show-taps-touches-on-my-Android-device>

    Anyway, I've seen the crosshairs, but only when debugging my own apps.

    Ok sorted. For some reason a debug key feedback setting had been
    switched on! Wierd 'cos I'd not been into settings since I'd installed
    the app.

    cheers
