    Who qualifies for $135M Android settlement?

    An estimated 100 million people may qualify for a
    class action lawsuit against Google.

    Google, while denying any wrongdoing, previously
    agreed to the settlement in a lawsuit that accused
    the company of causing Android mobile devices to
    send “a variety of information” to the internet
    giant without the users’ permission. This, the
    lawsuit alleges, consumed the cellular data on
    those devices.

    A similar lawsuit for only California residents
    resulted in a $350 million settlement.

    ...

    $135M to 100M users is $1.35 per user. Assuming half of the candidates
    don't respond, or fail to register, that goes up to a whopping $2.70 per
    user. Even if I qualified, I wouldn't waste my time getting involved on
    a piddly settlement. Plus the settlement probably has the lawyers get
    paid first, and the remnant balance dispersed to the claimants.
