• How to Keep a Recorded mp4 Playing While Switching to Another app?

    Samsung One UI 8.5

I'm listening to a recorded podcast, and I want to do something else, like
set an alarm, or send an email. But as soon as I hit the home button, so I
can get to the other app, the podcast stops.

    Can that behaviour be changed?

I Think we covered this topic recently, where I think the net was that some apps can play in the background and some can't play in the background.

From the previous thread on this subject, I think the main suggestion was
to make sure the battery optimization wasn't killing the app too soon.

You can also remove teh apps from sleeping apps, as I recall from that
thread only a month or so ago, as I recall, and you can check for in-app background settings.

From that long thread on the subject, everything depends on your setup.

On my Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ tablet I use the split screen feature for
that. I can watch a video on one side while playing around in another app
on the other. Nice feature. If you haven't already, you might check to see
    if you have it too...

    croy,

else, like set an alarm, or send an email. But as soon as I hit
the home button, so I can get to the other app, the podcast stops.

It depends on the player you're using. Check if it has a "run in the background" setting, and if so enable it.

Take care though, it might than also keep going when you receive a
    voice-call.

    Regards,
    Rudy Wieser
