Well, there was a bit of an unexpected absence which caused a gap in
the reporting in Prime Gaming give-aways, so this fortnight's list is
a bit longer than usual as we catch up. But no worries; who doesn't
    want to get more games?

[As usual, the URLs can't be used to claim the games.
They're just there so you can see screenshots and read
reviews. You gotta pay for Prime and then go to
https://gaming.amazon.com if you wanna grab these games]

    ----------

    * Fallout 3 GOTY (redeemed via GOG) https://www.gog.com/en/game/fallout_3_game_of_the_year_edition
It's Fallout 3; it doesn't need introduction. Whether
you liked Bethesda's take on the franchise or not, it's
had lasting impact. Myself, I feel --despite its flaws-- it
is still the best of the Fallout games, and that it holds
up fairly well over the years.

    * Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate (redeemed via GOG) https://www.gog.com/en/game/fallout_new_vegas_ultimate_edition
Regarded by many as the better of the Bethesda Fallout games,
I never care for it as much. Its story was messier, I didn't
like the emphasis on '50s 'Rat-pack' culture, the crafting
was unwanted, the game was buggy, and all this built on
the already creaky Fallout 3 infrastructure. It was an okay
game with potential for greatness it never achieved. IMHO,
    YMMV.

    * XCOM 2 (redeemed via GOG)
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/xcom_2
Another average sequel. You know why I think I didn't
like this game so much? I think it is because I fucking
worked hard to WIN the first game, and seeing that erased
with the canon 'no sorry, humanity lost' plotline in the
    sequel pissed me off. But honestly, it was more than that;
it was the lack of novelty and some of the changes to
gameplay that didn't resonate with me. It was an okay game,
but it felt more like an overly-long expansion than a
    proper sequel.

    * You Will Die Here Tonight (redeemed via GOG) https://www.gog.com/en/game/you_will_die_here_tonight
A top-down horror game (that sometimes inexplicably changes
to first person) whose overall gameplay structure resembles
that of Resident Evil: wander around a spooky mansion,
solving puzzles and shooting zombies. Reviews are positive
but I'm not crazy about the isometric viewpoint.

    * Empty Shell (redeemed via GOG)
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/empty_shell
A top-down roguelike horror shooter with monochrome
graphics. Reviews are good, but just looking at the
    visuals gives me a headache.

    * True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 1 (redeemed via GOG) https://www.gog.com/en/game/true_fear_forsaken_souls
    * True Fear: Forsaken Souls Part 2 (redeemed via GOG) https://www.gog.com/en/game/true_fear_forsaken_souls
These are the first two parts of a trilogy, so I expect
we'll see part 3 being made available on Prime Gaming in
short order. The games themselves are traditional first-
person point-n-click adventure games (like Myst) with a
psychological horror theme. They don't look bad but they
don't inspire any excitement in me either.

    * Hellslave (redeemed via GOG)
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/hellslave
This one is a top-down dungeon-crawler that transitions
to 'Bards Tale'-like turn-based combat encounters. Despite
its 'edgy' conceit (oooh, you've made a deal with the Devil
to fight off a demon invasion!) it otherwise looks quite
average, but I guess if you love dungeon crawlers you may
get more out of this game than I would.

    * Werewolf The Apocalypse Heart of the Forest (redeemed via AMAZ) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1342620/Werewolf_The_Apocalypse__Heart_of_the_Forest/
A choose-your-own-adventure style adventure game based on
the World of Darkness Werewolf franchise. Great for fans of
that game, but probably not going to appeal to anybody else.

    * Lost & Found Agency CE (redeemed via Legacy) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2562610/Lost__Found_Agency_Collectors_Edition/
    * Halloween Stories Horror Movie CE (redeemed via AMAZ) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2655710/Halloween_Stories_Horror_Movie/
The requisite hidden-object games that are included in
every Amazon Prime Gaming give-away. Two of them, this time!

    ----------

That's all we got this time(like it's not enough?).
May The Number grow ever larger for you.

And now they are also giving access to the Luna Streaming Service with
Prime. I suppose this is a last resort to remind people that it exists,
and if it gets popular enough, downgrade what's available in the basic
tier like they did with Amazon Moosic.

AFAIK, access to Luna for Prime members isn't new.* I'm pretty sure
you could get Luna games before (although maybe they've made it more transparent /easier to access? I haven't checked). Amazon is just
making it more obvious that it exists now.

But since I prefer games I can own (or at least have more claim to
    'ownership' than anything on a subscription/cloud service, I haven't
really mentioned Luna games in previous entries (and probably won't in
the future). It's all too ephemeral for The Number. ;-)

    * feel free to correct me! It feels great when you notice somebody is

Yeah the 'free games' on Luna are like other sub services where you get
them for a month or however long until they take them away.

Also streaming games with any kind of twitch sucks, in some cases
unplayable, in others just enough lag to make you question if you're too
old to play games anymore, of if it's just the lag.
