The mid-90s were an awesome time to be a PC gamer; there were just so
many terrific games to play. But some games got more attention than
others. One of these games was, of course, "Doom". That game was
everywhere. But maybe a close second --at least leading up to its
release-- was "Mechwarrior II". The way it was being hyped up, you'd
think it was the second coming. And why not? Who needs tiny
space-marines when you got a 15m-tall battle-robot? Okay, maybe the
game didn't have quite the longevity as did "Doom", but man were
people excited about this game back in 1995.
But what if you mixed them together? What if you got your peanut
butter in my chocolate? What if --and stay with me on this-- you
modded "Mechwarrior 2" into "Doom"?
TL;DR:

Yes, it's ridiculous. Yes, it makes no sense. Yes, you can mod your battlemechs. But it's about as 90s as you can get without a Nerf-gun
shooting Sonic the Hedgehog branded Pogs while listening to Nirvana.
