I'm so excited! The Dark Souls community event Dark Souls 3: Return to Lothric starts tomorrow 6/13.
The rules:
* Create a Fresh Character: The core spirit of the event is to start a brand-new character so players progress through the zones together.
* Jolly Cooperation: Use your White Sign Soapstone liberally! Drop your
sign before every boss fight so you can get summoned and help others.
* Covenants: Equip active multiplayer covenants early on (like Way of
Blue, Blue Sentinels, or Watchdogs of Farron) to naturally trigger matchmaking as you explore.

What is this? Is this an expansion pack, DLC? I don't see it in the
Steam store. Must DS3 be finished for this?
Do you remember trying to help me with DS3? I didn't get very far!!
LOL! Too tough for me!

I can't get excited about the expansion myself (or Dark Souls 3 in
general), just because I never really glommed onto the franchise.
But I eagerly anticipate more long threads between the fans here
debating tactics on how to get past the rock-hard enemies and
obstacles. Those are always fun to read (and probably a welcome
respite for many regulars here, since that's the one topic I *won't*
be able to participate in ;-).

I had to look this up too.
It's a community event, not an expansion. To quote some random forum
post I found on Steam:
"What is Return to Lothric? Every year, the Souls Community
gets together to replay through the old games. It's a fun way
to breathe life into the old servers and experience the game
in a more online way. All platforms can participate- just
make a new character and summon other players as often as
possible!"
Justisaur has applied certain rules to his next playthrough but (at
least as far as I can tell) those aren't official requirements. The
idea is just to get inspire the Dark Souls fan base back to playing
the game.

It's a 'community event' basically a bunch of people decided to (re)play >Dark Souls 3 every year between 6/13-6/27 apparently there's some >disagreement between it starting 6/13, and moving it to 6/12 because of >starting it on Friday.
