    Dear comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action, and comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.misc,

What is a /volume controller/ in a PC game setting? I'm not sure how
to describe the dial, so here's a picture on a different social net-
    work.

I'm fairly certain Namco called them /volume controllers/ when they made
theirs for the PlayStation One, but these are gameports [1]. I'm de-
cently certain there were relatively few made, and only during the very
early days of I.B.M. P.C. gaming.

Do you know anything about this stuff? I didn't bother to look up the Wikipedia article that's almost certain to exist about these world fa-
    mous controllers.

[1] Well, technically just one gameport, but two dials.

No idea what "volume controller" is, but they look like paddle
controllers, the type of dial Pong had.

You're supposed to shove them deep in your anus,
then remove them and smell them.

    Ah, yes. Now I remember. It's /paddle controller/ in the P.C. world.

Here you can see the "same thing" for PlayStation 1 [and two], and it's
    called /volume controller/.

And please, don't touch any previously owned by Bill Wilson. He uses
the wrong anatomy to play Arkanoid Returns. Here is a screenshot.

    Best wishes, and happy Arkanoid!
