Time for some more Amazon-offerings. They can't be worse than
HumbleChoice's or Epic's recent freebies... can they?

    * Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong (via EPIC) https://store.epicgames.com/p/vampire-the-masquerade-swansong?lang=en-US
I'll admit; I'm not really too sure exactly what genre of
game these new "Vampire: The Masquerade" titles fall into. I
think they're adventure games, but who knows. I've never
really gotten into the whole Vampire thing, so I've little
inclination to find out. I like killing monsters, not being
    one.

    * WarBreeds (via GOG)
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/warbreeds
A classic RTS from yesteryear. Classic in this case being
shorthand for "old" (the game dates back to 1998) rather
than "good". Released at the height of the RTS genre's
popularity, this was one of those games you never bothered
to play (or even heard of) because there were so many better
games of its type on the market. Even in 1998, Warbreeds was
barely average; nowadays, there's little reason for anyone
except the most die-hard aficionados to play it.

    * Conarium (via GOG)
    https://www.gog.com/en/game/conarium
It makes claims to being Lovecraftian, but ultimately this
game is just another walking sim. Reviews indicate it's
okay, but not spectacular in any way. There are probably
better ways to spend your time.

    * Caravan SandWitch (via Amazon) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1582650/Caravan_SandWitch/
Self-described as a 'narrative driven exploration adventure',
this one borders very closely to walking-sim territory...
except you're in a van. There is some light puzzling and
platforming, from what I can tell, but the developers are
quick to point out: "no combat, no death, no timer", so the
challenge is minimal. Mechanically simple, it's supposed to
be about immersing yourself in the environment, engaging
with the characters and narrative... except those apparently
(if the reviews are anything to go by) not particularly deep
either. It's supposed to be a calming, casual game but its
lack of variety robs its of any impact. Maybe worth briefly
taking a look at, but it doesn't seem to be one worth
sticking around with until the end.

Jeez, Amazon is really giving Epic and HumbleChoice a run for their
money for the title of 'most mediocre games'. Well, it's the middle of
the month and that's usually when they release their less exciting
titles, so maybe it's not so surprising that these games are
underwhelming. We'll see if things get better in two weeks.

Well, I took it, with current reviews at 45% on steam (which is
abyssmal, not just below average) and it being a puzzle(-x)
narrative(-x) adventure, I probably won't play it, but I am curious.
Maybe some day when I'm sick or something.

    On Luna:

    Star Wars: Galactic Racer
I watched a video of someone playing it. It looks like an amazing a SW version of mario cart, but it's mario cart. I'm tempted to try it but I
know Luna's lag isn't going to be conducive to a fun experience with a
    racer.

It's like russian roulette. Some of these triple-A titles don't arrive
    intact.
