Really bought it for the multiplayer game, always a casual gaming good
time and I liked the beta, but that hasn't unlocked yet (3 more days)
so I tried the campaign.
It's really good. There are some quick time events and plenty of
cutscenes, but somehow they struck a good balance between the
extremely cinematic feel every other single player game seems to
strive for and a game that feeds the hunger for action and
interactivity.
Despite scripted events and directed gameplay (which the single player
portion of the game has always been about), it just has that feel that
makes an action game fun, and the visuals (at least on a nice rig)
really feel like effort was spent to take things to the next level.
I think the campaign is probably too short to go out and spend full
price on it... but it was nice of them to unlock it early so I can't
jump straight to online play and forget the single player game is
there. There must have been some telemetry review that led to that
release decision :)
As far as I can tell all reviews are positive.
