Ditto for news.eternal-september.org. I use MT-Newswatcher 3.5.3b3 via
Snow Leopard Server 10.6.8 via VMware Fusion 13.6.3 via Sequoia 15.5 on
Mac mini 2018 Intel. Or via Sequoia Terminal via tin.
That seems like an awful lot of hoops to jump through just for a newsreader...

nah, it takes just 20 seconds from Sequoia. About the same time with tin
once once I remember to start it with 'tin -rA'.
