• Operation Pew Pew! released

    From Sebastian P.@[email protected] to comp.sys.mac.vintage on Fri Feb 6 19:40:22 2026
    From Newsgroup: comp.sys.mac.vintage

"A little side scrolling space shooter to pass the time... and who doesnt like to Pew Pew! things?"

    Featuring...

    - Horizontally scrolling parallax star field background like it's the 1989 Demoscene!
    - Pumping MOD background music
    - Digital sound FX (pewpew!)
    - Custom sprites
    - Fully commented source code and CodeWarrior PRO 4 project folder with libraries, etc.. available

Fun little game, despite aiming at the SE/30 and System 7, it runs fine on OS 9
as well. Though the game's screen is tucked to the upper-left corner. But impressive.

Since the sources come with it, in case somebody is looking for a programming project on classic Mac OS ... how about forking it and turning this into a colorful, high resolution side-scrolling shooter for Mac OS 9? ;-)

Right, it looks like fun but will it run on my M1 Mini?

My wife would have loved it.

Perhaps a good time to get that SE/30 out of the closet again? :-)

Well, and there are emulators like Basilisk or Mini vMac running on M1 Minis ...

Oooohhh, cute. Wicked-P has its moments. :)

I never had one of those. My first Macky-box was a black Os 9.2
(9.6?) laptop that I gave to the wife. She rather liked it. She liked
some of the games on it, too.

    I think it still works.

Well, and there are emulators like Basilisk or Mini vMac running on M1 Minis ...

Nah, too much like hard work, but thank you. :)

Anyway, she'd never use it so there's no real point.

But O.P.P. does look like fun.

Thanks, I will give it a whirl - I’ll try it on my OS9 MDD first but will also give it a spin on my 7.6.1 PM9600, too. :)
